The largest of the Ionian Islands in western Greece with a total area of approximately 781 square kilometers or 302 square miles.

In 2021 the populaiton estimate for the island was 34,400 people.

The island's capitol and largest city is Argostoli.

Kefalonia's landscape is made up of rugged mountains, deep gorges, and beautiful beaches, making it a popular destination for outdoor activities such as hiking, swimming, and boating. The island is also known for its rich history and culture, with many ancient ruins and historical landmarks. The scent of oleander is found around the island in abundance.

Myrtos Beach is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece, with its turquoise waters and white pebble beach.
